EXCITING NEWS

August 14 th we will be hosting the RCMP Musical Ride for two shows. All proceeds go to the Comox Valley Therapeutic Riding

The Comox Valley Therapeutic Riding Society is a registered non-profit charitable organization operating since 1987 in the Comox Valley and Campbell River areas of Vancouver Island to provide therapeutic riding to people of all ages with physical, mental and emotional challenges.

We provide therapeutic riding three seasons of the year, four days a week.

Program participants are evaluated by a certified physiotherapist, interviewed by their family physician and the riding instructor. If the applicant is approved, they are scheduled for a ten week program of supervised riding.

THE BENEFITS:

Participants obtain a combination of physical, psychological and social benefits. Therapeutic riding can improve balance and coordination, strengthen muscles, increase circulation and motor function.

The participants experience a sense of challenge and achievement.

Communication skills are often improved through increased interaction with fellow riders, volunteers, instructors and the horses.
